Morning Tour at the Top of Diamond Head
After two days of self-care and rest, I was fully ready for my first day of adventures with my bestie and our 3-Day Go City Oahu Pass. Our first day included a round-trip ride with Kaimana Tours and a hike to the top of Diamond Head Crater in Honolulu, HI, a popular tourist attraction. My friend has lived on Oahu for over a decade and has never been to Diamond Head since she is a resident and not a tourist. Neither of us knew what to expect. We were both wearing dresses and sandals for our trip today, which were cute, but not the best attire for hiking up to the top of a mountain for over a mile and a half. The Diamond Head Trail was pretty much paved the entire way, although it was steep, bumpy, narrow, and quite dusty, we managed to make it to the top to take a picture in my cap overlooking Waikiki Beach. To celebrate our successful tour, I grabbed a delicious Pineapple Smoothie at the bottom of the crater.
Bike Riding Around the Base of Diamond Head
Our tour bus took us back to Waikiki Beach where we picked up two e-bikes from Hawaiian Style Rentals. We had planned to ride six miles around the base of Diamond Head snapping pictures of the coastline along the way. We had three hours to ride but it only took us two, so we went up to Tiki’s Grill and Bar overlooking Waikiki Beach to have a quick snack before returning the e-bikes. We had one last stop on our tour day at Pearl Harbor National Historic Site to get my National Parks Passport cancelation stamp. After all the touring, we stopped at a yummy seafood restaurant called Jolene’s in Ewa Beach to enjoy a lobster roll and lobster fries. That wrapped up my first Go City Oahu Pass Day 1 celebrating Jaime in Hawaii in July.
