Lavish Nails w/The Girls
I have not been posting consistently the last few days since we were involved in the shooting incident at Sunset Beach on Thursday. My body has been showing signs of PTSD with symptoms of anxiety, night terrors, night sweats, long naps in the middle of the day, teeth grinding while sleeping, cold sore, indigestion, lack of appetite, fatigue, brain fog, and sore back, legs, and feet. I have been taking the time to really be aware of what is not right with my mind and body and giving it the self-care it needs. Following our dramatic day walking about three miles in flip flops, we thought it would be a great idea for a self-care day with the girls at the nail spa. The older girls got deep sea pedicures with special cooling mint masque, hydration creams, and salt rubs to exfoliate, hydrate, and relax our sore feet and legs, and also used the massage chair for our backs. The younger gal chose a sparkly mani-pedi. We grabbed some yummy snacks at the food court and made our way back home.
Me and a Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree
We missed going to the Waimea Botanical Garden due to the shooting interruption, which is where I hoped to see a Rainbow Eucalyptus Tree. These trees look like neon highlighters were colored all over the inside of the tree and when the bark peels, it reveals these amazing bright colors. On our way home from our spa day at the Pearlridge Shopping Center in Aiea, HI, of all places, I noticed these trees in the mall parking lot and screamed out to please stop so I can get some pictures hugging the Rainbow Eucalyptus in my graduation cap. That unexpected find really helped to boost my mood for the day. I am so happy and grateful for the opportunities to do self-care with my friends on this fabulous Friday of Jaime in Hawaii in July.
