Hello Gorgeous! Thanks for returning to my Beauty Monday’s B.R.E.A.T.H.S. blog. This space is where I share my knowledge and experiences about skincare health and beauty. Each week for the month of July, I will post skincare education along with beauty tips and tricks I use to keep my skin looking and feeling healthy.
Previous Beauty Monday Posts
The first week of July, I shared how the Beauty Society company I have been with since they started in 2004 is growing and upgrading their business. The second week of July, I documented my journey with skincare and beauty education. Last week, I discussed strategies on skincare maintenance and protection for all year.
Beauty Bumps Became Present
This week, I am discussing my unconventional but successful way of dealing with skin irritations such as acne, rashes, or in my case, random skin bumps. What prompted me to write this post are two bumps that appeared on my face above the left side of my lip during the pandemic. While I managed to stay healthy the entire time, these bumps slowly started appearing one the first year, and the second in the following year. What I could find about them is that they are probably milia and will either go away or I may need to see a dermatologist to remove them.
Beauty Bumps Not in “Heal Your Body” Book
Most common dis-eases are listed in alphabetical order in Louise Hay’s “Heal Your Body” book, with a probable metaphysical cause, and a positive affirmation to change the negative thought pattern. In her book, skin is listed as what protects individuality (Hay, 1982), and she has the following skin diseases listed: acne, hives, psoriasis, rash, ringworm, and scabies. She says doctors can cut most diseases out, but they can come back if we haven’t gotten to the root of the metaphysical causation. My face bumps were not causing me discomfort or harmful to my health, I couldn’t find them in her book, and I didn’t want a doctor to remove them since I have had great success with using her affirmations in the past to remove diseases myself.
Beauty Bumps Begone with Children’s Book
One of my other favorite authors, Dr. Wayne Dyer, wrote a children’s book based on a true story about his daughter who had beauty bumps that she was able to make go away called, “Good-bye, Bumps! Talking to What’s Bugging You.” Using advice from the book, I picked up a mirror and started talking to my beauty bumps. I did the Ho’oponopono prayer on them: I love you, I am sorry, please forgive me, and thank you, then I asked my intuition why they are here for me. Immediately, my intuition replied, “a reminder to always be confident and speak my truth.” I repeated this process for several months.
One Beauty Bump Down
Last week, as I was doing my mirror work (also a Louise Hay book) and noticed the second bump had a pore opening so I started to use my beauty products on it: cleanser, resurfacer (exfoliate), rebuilder, and repair serums along with sunscreen to protect it. I realized I had been stepping out of my comfort zone and starting to spread my truth on my blog, so I believe that is why this bump is ready to heal. Yesterday, the bump started protruding and breaking through the skin similar to acne, and I gently pushed on the skin around the base to release it (I did not squeeze it out). I put some skin repair serum on it and will continue to heal the affected area.
Beauty Bump Conclusion
This was probably one of my most vulnerable posts. First, I am writing about a beauty bump that I am rather self-conscious about, and trying to hide it in photos. I just recently started to accept the fact the bumps may be with me for the rest of my life, and so I am showing them love. Secondly, I am not discussing any medications to make the bumps go away, but more like self-love mirror meditations that have worked for me in the past, and now I get to share something I am healing presently. Lastly, I truly believe that talking to your body and listening to it can help you heal it yourself, beauty bumps, and anything else!
Stay beautiful my friends,
Dr. Jaime Brainerd, E.d.D.
I have had bumps all over my face and am almost finished using it, as they hardly come back. I’ll try your techniques too. I do love Louis Hayes and Dwayne Dyer. Thank you for your assistance and transparency. You’ll help many people.
Jaime, what an interesting post! I did not know about Dr. Wayne Dyer’s book with his daughter. I love it! Thanks for this sharing.
WOW very interesting. I have never heard of this method.
